3 Days Mgahinga Gorilla Trekking Safari, Uganda

Upon your arrival at Entebbe Airport, you will be warmly welcomed by our guide who will brief you on your upcoming adventure. You will then embark on a scenic drive towards Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, located in the southwestern part of Uganda. En route, you will make a stop at the Equator for a memorable photo opportunity and a chance to experience the unique sensation of standing in both the northern and southern hemispheres simultaneously. After this brief stop, continue your journey through picturesque landscapes characterized by rolling hills, lush forests, and terraced farmland typical of the region. Arrive at your lodge near Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in the evening, where you will check-in and have dinner, enjoying the serene atmosphere of the surrounding wilderness.

Today marks the highlight of your safari experience as you embark on an unforgettable gorilla trekking adventure in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. After an early breakfast, you will head to the park headquarters for a briefing by the park rangers. You'll be assigned to a gorilla group and begin your trek into the dense rainforest, guided by experienced trackers who will lead you through the rugged terrain in search of the magnificent mountain gorillas. Once you encounter these gentle giants in their natural habitat, you will have a magical hour to observe them up close, witnessing their behavior, interactions, and perhaps even capturing some incredible photographs. After the trek, return to the lodge for a well-deserved rest and lunch.

In the afternoon, you will have the opportunity to visit a local community near the park, where you can interact with the Batwa pygmies, an indigenous tribe that has lived in harmony with the forest for generations. Depending on your preferences, you may opt for a boat ride on Lake Mutanda, offering panoramic views of the Virunga volcanoes and the chance to spot various bird species and possibly otters.
