6 Days Uganda Primate & Wildlife Safari

Your safari guide will pick you up from Kampala or Entebbe in the morning and begin the scenic drive westwards to Kibale Forest National Park, famous for having the highest concentration of primates in Africa. Enjoy beautiful countryside views, tea plantations, and local villages along the way.

In the evening, take part in a guided community walk, interacting with local people and learning about their daily life, traditional practices, and culture.

After an early breakfast, proceed to the park headquarters for a briefing before starting your chimpanzee trekking experience in Kibale Forest. Spend time observing chimpanzees in their natural habitat as they feed, socialize, and move through the forest canopy.

After the trek, drive south to Queen Elizabeth National Park, Uganda’s most diverse wildlife park, with stunning crater lakes and savannah landscapes.

Start the day with an early morning game drive, searching for lions, elephants, buffaloes, leopards, antelopes, and a wide variety of birdlife.

In the afternoon, enjoy a boat cruise along the Kazinga Channel, which connects Lake George and Lake Edward. This is one of the best wildlife viewing experiences in Uganda, offering close encounters with hippos, crocodiles, elephants, and water birds.

In the evening, head out for another sunset game drive, perfect for photography.

After breakfast, depart Queen Elizabeth National Park and travel south through the Ishasha sector (famous for tree-climbing lions, depending on route) toward Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, home to almost half of the world’s remaining mountain gorillas.

Arrive at your lodge in the afternoon and relax as you prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking adventure.

After an early breakfast, transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing before setting off on your mountain gorilla trekking experience. Trekking can take between 2–6 hours depending on gorilla movements. Once located, you will spend a magical one hour observing the gorillas at close range.

In the afternoon, enjoy a Batwa community visit, learning about the traditional forest-dwelling lifestyle of the Batwa people, their history, music, and dances.
